Social Life

Socializing in Italy is very easy. There are many opportunities to meet other people, e.g. at pizzerias or restaurants for dinner, at cafés (called bars) for tea in the afternoon, for some ice cream during summer, or for an aperitif in the evening. They are popular venues for socializing as they are open at virtually all hours.

Entertainment

Entertainment mostly takes place at discos, cinemas, theatres, or concerts. Cinemas and theatres play a central role in Italian culture. Among young people, it is common to go to a disco on the weekend or to a concert with friends. In summer, many events are organized by the towns.

Sport

Football is the most popular sport to see in Italy. Basketball, volleyball and tennis are also popular. Practising sports on your own is common, especially doing fitness training in winter.
